The most important thing to live free is to be mindful of spending time and not let anybody or anything else control your precious time. You need to own your time and use it wisely.
We are all given the same amount of time every day, but that doesn’t mean we have to waste it. So we should take advantage of our time and use it as efficiently as possible.
When it comes to spending time, we should ask ourselves, “Is this really what I want to spend precious time? “don’t let someone or something dictate what you do.
The famous quote by Steve Jobs:
“If you live each day as if it were your last, someday you’ll be right. Every morning I looked in the mirror and asked myself: If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I do today?”
This quote says it all, but it is the ultimate goal. Very few people can live like Steve Jobs. Ordinary people like us can start with a small step instead of a whole day. So let’s try it for 15 minutes.
Let’s take 15 minutes out of your daily schedule and when it starts, ask yourself, “What really would I want to do for this precious 1 5 minutes?” You might not come up with any idea what to do first. Even so, keep asking the question, which is the self-discovery process.
Don’t forget that these 15 minutes are all yours, don’t let any outside influences allow you to control your decision.
You might find what you want to do, such as meditation, work out, hobbies, or study certain subjects you have been interested in for a long time.
In this process, you can start learning to own your own time. Eventually, you can expand the time from 15 minutes to a whole day, as Steve Jobs suggested.
The Time Cube can be a helpful tool for people who want to make time for what matters. Just turn the Time Cube to 5, 15, 30, or 60 minutes.
It can help you focus on what you are doing without constantly checking the clock, leading to distractions and procrastination.
Good luck with owning your own time!
